Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico with a family that was passionate about music. She grew up listening mostly to classical music, old boleros, and the traditional romantic and ranchero ballads. Ana is a lover of the opera and tango genres as well as any form of dramatic performance. At the age 16, she began singing and learning music with her mother. Flavio, a Mexican famous tenor, started to give her more intense training in singing. Her musical education continued in the School of Music of Guadalajara University, and then the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was an active member of numerous opera choruses and chamber ensembles. Following her move into the United States in 2000, she sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before moving to her present residence in the southern part of California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and is a performer of Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. Passion and enthusiasm for art, music, and performing keep her engaged with many local organizations as a teacher and performer. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana hopes that with her performance her love of Latin American traditional songs, that she will bring about a desire, specifically for the young generation, for keeping this music alive.
