Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television show Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. After her parents divorced, she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. The actress landed her first part in the film, Rachel's Room's main character in 2001 despite struggling in the financial department. The television film Murder in Greenwich, in which she portrayed 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for the Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, the character she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was selected for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the television series in the year 2005, to take on the role of a greater part in movies, and had a role alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. She appeared on screen in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in 2008. The actress reprised her character in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a modern adaptation from the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the Lost series for the last two episodes, playing Shannon. She was in 2013 for the sixth episode of Californication. She portrays Faith she is an admirer and muse to the celebrities. Hank Moody as played by David Duchovny falls in love with her. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family and is the elder cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was an early teenager, with small roles in several films that her father directed. In addition, she was a part of her brother on the 2001 famous movie Donnie Darko. Her next appearance was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her leading performances in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) as well as the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination. She gained wider recognition after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercial films that she was a part of during 2006. For her performance as an unmarried mother in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following year, she starred in comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Will Not Back Down (2012). Her other roles are as an agent of Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013, singing in Frank 2014 and also in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, in which she plays the lead role. In 2021 Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut in the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she won an award at the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
